Winning the GDA isn’t everything. No matter what happens, we are all the house of sapphire blue. If we succeed, we are the house of sapphire blue. If we fail, we are still the house of sapphire blue.
We all know this. The GDA doesn’t make up half of our world and most of us have lives to attend to. I have high school and tests, I have a social life and I have to feed myself three meals a day.
But the GDA is a symbol. It’s a symbol of not only ELF’s neverending love for Super Junior, but a symbol of their hard work. The blood, sweat and tears. We aren’t going to let this go in vain. We worked harder than ever before and if we stop now, we stop everything.
Nothing has ever overcome us before. Nothing. So why stop now? Why give up when we have so much more ground to cover? Why leave all the work to someone else? WE are ELF. WE shape Super Junior’s future and WE will stop at nothing.
Selling 200,000 repackaged albums is very much posible if everyone pitches in. If you don’t have the money, that’s fine. You can always help in other ways.
Now, it’s time for Version C.
So far Super Junior has sold about 300,000 copies of Mr. Simple. They’re close to beating their previous records, and even close enough to getting that GDA. We all know they desire it. What artist wouldn’t? The Golden Daesang is a mark of history.
So with 500,000 albums as our ultimate goal, and ELF getting closer and closer every year (plus the growing population of ELFs after Kevjumba’s video, haha) we’ll be working side by side to buying those copies and helping each other get them. We’re going to take over the Hanteo charts!
It’s time to bid farewell in the most memorable way possible. It’s time to say, “See you later with no change of heart.” It’s time to keep the boys closer together for these next two years and keep their adrenaline going. Many boy bands haven’t made it pass their five year mark, and Super Junior’s getting older every single year. I have strong belief that winning this GDA will keep them together, because it will show our boys that no matter what they are the legendary Kings of Korean music.
Forget about JYJ and Girls’ Generation and whatnot. All we need is you. It all starts with an ELF and it all ends with an ELF.

If you doubt that Super Junior will unite again in two years, then it will really happen. It will happen because you’re believing in their separation and letting them slip away. There is no Super Junior without ELF and no ELF without Super Junior. Whether the boys said this or not, this is factual.
The boys have been through difficult times and we as ELF have helped them through it. Many of us are worried for the future and what will happen. Now that our boys have grown it is time to fuss over what is yet to be revealed. But we shouldn’t worry over their separation. That just adds to more doubt and less believing in their reunification.
Maybe you don’t believe a 13 reunification because it’s quite impossible. Well, Hangeng withdrew his lawsuit against SM and now he’s back under the label. What does that tell you?
Heechul loves his fans a lot. He loves his brothers too. If he wanted to leave Super Junior, it would have to be a mutual agreement, yes? Perhaps he wanted to get his service over with so that he could see his brothers sooner.
This isn’t me being absolutely sure about Super Junior’s intentions. This is me believing. How will Super Junior survive as one without us, ELF? Without us believing in them? If ELF can’t trust them when they say, “We’ll come back”, how will Super Junior possibly make it through?
They need us, ELF. Wait for them. All of them. No matter what, Super Junior is Super Junior, and I know the boys will say the exact same thing.
Treat these stages as if it was their last, but do not think it as the last. Always believe. Even after they go their separate ways be grateful to have had Super Junior in your lives and support them. That’s the right way, for 슈주.
Always believe, protect and love. We are ELF, and we won’t go anywhere. We won’t go anywhere without Super Junior, and Super Junior won’t go anywhere without us.

Every Korean knows that K-Pop celebrity life is nothing like America’s. We wish it could be, but it’s not like that. K-Pop’s changed so much since the last ten years . Since Hangeng’s lawsuit, many international fans came to the harsh reality of what their idols were going through. It happens to everyone. They perform and don’t get the money.
I was watching the news back in December and found that Hangeng won his lawsuit against SM Entertainment. As I watched the explanation of what specifics Hangeng used to rule the judge’s favor, I found that everything the boys earned they would receive 10%… then divide by 13.
Now many are saying, “This is Super Junior we’re talking about. They don’t need the money.” Super Junior loves to perform and make their fans happy. I think that no matter what, they’ll perform because it’s what they love to do. But saying that statement isn’t completely right either. My dad always wanted to be a constitutional lawyer. He was studying to become one, but later in college he decided to become an international lawyer instead. The reason was because constitutional lawyers don’t make enough money. As the oldest son of his family’s household, my dad had to make money. In Korean culture, the son must work for their family. I’m sure many other Asian families can relate. My dad had to give up his dream to find ways to support his parents.
Remember Kyuhyun’s stories about how his father wanted him to do something worthwhile with his life instead of singing? Or how Yesung’s father wanted him to study and not sing? I know other parents pushed their children to follow their dreams, such as Donghae. But the general population would have fathers more like Kyuhyun and Yesung’s. It’s expected of you to work and make money for your mother and father.
When saying, “they don’t need the money”… That kind of irks me. All people want to make money. And in Korea, making money as a son is very important. Very, very important. Who your son is and what he does is extremely important. Saying that your son is a 가수 (singer) isn’t very looked up to. That’s probably why Kyuhyun’s father was so opposed to his son becoming a singer.
In the end, Super Junior loves to perform and do what they do. They’re happy and that’s all that matters. We don’t care about who they are, what they do, or who they become in the future. Super Junior will forever be Super Junior and ELF will forever be ELF.
But remember, saying that it doesn’t matter if Super Junior has low performance fees… That can really strike a chord. My younger brother is expected to go into economy and business when he wants to go into science and mechanics. As a daughter I am free to do whatever (definitely not work in Korea though, women are very underrated. That’s why Kyuhyun’s older sister works with international relations).
I think Super Junior’s low performance fees do matter. They deserve more money. They work hard and they should earn more. They love what they do, but that doesn’t mean they shouldn’t earn more. I say this not only for them, but them as sons.

It’s up to us ELF. If you can’t afford an album, don’t feel bad about it. I know a lot of sacrifices are being made as is and no one should be feeling any less than they should. Everyone’s working hard and I couldn’t be any prouder.
But if you have the money—If it won’t jeopardize you and your family in any negative way then please, please buy just ONE album. I know there’s more than 200,000 ELFs out there and I know that most of them are international. But you know what? Distance and money isn’t going to put us down. Has it ever?
It’s not only about cherishing that album. It’s about helping and contributing and giving back. We sacrificed so much already, worked so hard and cried so much. We can’t just stop here. We have to keep going and we have to fight hard. Every ELF is an ounce of strength and every ELF is a gift!
I laughed with you guys, I cried with you guys, I joked with you guys. I got mad at you guys and apologized to you guys. You’re my family. I don’t care if we speak different languages and come from different worlds, we’re still family. My brothers and sisters who are always smiling and looking for peace, not afraid to speak their minds and stronger than any other fandom I will ever know in all my years of living.
As a family and the people I love… I’m asking every single one of you… Please. If you can, if you know you can or think you can. If you want and desire this for Super Junior, then let’s do this together. As a family.
I don’t love Super Junior because they’re sexy godly beings. I don’t love ELF because we’re pure awesomeness. No, I love all of you and the wonderful 15 because you’re my sense of family. And if we do this together, put one foot in and hold each other close, I know we can.
Because we are forever the house of sapphire blue.

What we buy is not just an album, but the pathway of Super Junior’s future. Please buy 5JIB.
For promotional purposes, we ask everyone to spread this note. Many thanks!
Still remembering last year. All of us were saying…
【See you in 4jib, no change of heart.】

Looking back, the expectations are still high.
We put in so much effort for 4jib. When the album was released, we bulk purchased, voted digitally, and did physical voting. On top of all this, we still attended all sorts of concerts and contests. In order to let our men see the sea of sapphire blue, we hardly took a breath in between all these activities. Stacks of albums (purchased directly from Korea) could be found in our homes, loads of ELFs could be seen around them wherever we go. Sometimes we complained of exhaustion and tiredness, but we found our own pleasure in doing this for the ones who were worth our efforts.
In the past, Leeteuk and Donghae used to remind us to not band hop, to not have a change of heart as if they were always worrying about losing us. Perhaps they had suffered too much, making them unsure of how to handle such a blessing that was much too difficult to come by. Perhaps it was the wish to own it forever that they were constantly worried about losing it.
I believe all of us are aware that the boys will be enlisting to the army soon. My friend used to joke: “Yongwoon did not eat enough in the army. When he returns we must buy him more meat.” I would reply: “Going forward, there will be more boys waiting to be fed by us”. Actually, short parting should not be a heart wrenching experience as long as we are willing to wait. One day, we will get them all back. They will greet us with their loudest and most confident voices: WE ARE SUPER JUNI OH!
We are tasting bitter sweet sadness, but we can afford to wait, right?
It is a fact that 2010 was filled with heartache. Low budget MVs, low cost performance costumes and degrading award ceremonies. I can only say that the house of sapphire blue was never the most favored within the company. We are not the apple of the eye but more likey adopted children. Nevertheless, despite wearing old clothes, despite not being complete, despite not getting enough attention from our “parents”… Our men still stood tall on the stage, performing in the name of Super Junior. Though not completed in numbers, they stayed committed together, retaining their innocence since the very beginning. Regardless of the times when they experienced valley lows or the current days where they are standing mountain high, we still held close to them. This is a great blessing that heaven has given us.
Soon, the fifth album (5jib) will be coming.
Maybe you have said those discouraging words, “I am not going to fan/ship them anymore, I am going to look for a new love, I am going to love myself more”. You know what? In actual fact, the house of sapphire blue has grown a lot for the period of 2 years, between 3th album (3jib) and 4th album (4jib). We have, from a disunited bunch, congregated to a solid force. Like a plate of dry sand, add some water, you can build a sand castle. We know we have to treasure what we have because we know this did not come naturally for us. What can be more precious than the times we have gone through together? We should thank those who tell us to move on… for its them whohad given us the extra push to move forward and to put in even more effort.
Golden Disk Award (GDA) Daesang… We had it and we “lost” it. What’s there to be afraid of anymore? Now we all know that Daesang is nothing but an illusion. What we carde about the most was not the Daesang… We only wanted to give a beautiful memory to our 83liners before they enlisted. To let them know that whether they were going away or coming back (in the future), ELF would always be with them and would never abandon them.
But at the same time, 4jib was released based on the high sale counts of 3jib. So with the possible release of 5jib would 4jib be successful? To speak the truth, we have made it, but we lost to those in power. We always thought 5jib would be a long way to come, but the grand album sales of 4jib brought us to just that. Our two boys will be enlisting soon, and 5jib will be the paving stone. So how well will 5jib sell? This will decide the fate of Super Junior’s future. Lets think about it, we were never treated as our own. If 5jib sales are bad, what will become of Super Junior in the company? (everyone should know by now, they have re-contracted). In order to ensure that their comfort zone in the company will be preserved, we have to make 5jib a success… by hook or by crook. So what if we lose the awards? We are still here, we can break our own record, we can always get them back. What’s there to be afraid of? ELF are the best, we will not be beaten by such minor setbacks.
So will you be part of the history? Will you let Super Junior’s legacy live on?

Let’s talk about the concept of pre-order/pre-sales.
Pre-order/pre-sales does not equas to actual album sales. To put it simply: pre-order is what the retailers have ordered from SM. So only after the retailers have sold these albums out, the sales are counted.
【Regarding album sales, it is very simple.】

(1) Bulk purchase should focus on Hanteo Chart as a priority.
(2) Korean Album Sales chart ONLY recognize K-albums sold from Korean CD shops.

(3) You must get an official receipt with the tax paid.

(4) Focus on buying Version A
【Lets take a look at 4jib comeback, data provided by Music Bank:】

1st week (5/13-5/16): Ver A-62270, Ver B-not released (MB data total 12145)

2nd week (5/17-5/23): Ver A-41204, Ver B-28417 (MB data total 10387)

3rd week (5/24-5/30):Ver A-6286,Ver B-11053(MB data total 5505)
4th week (5/31-6/6):Ver A-4603,Ver B-3603(MB data total 2394)
5th week(6/7-6/13):Ver A-2811,Ver B-836(MB data total 1917)
We all know that 4jib relied heavily on the album sales to get into the charts (according to Music Bank, the scores of chart system included digital listening, favoritism, album sales and performance). We had 3 weeks of Number 1 on Music Bank. Every time it was because of the album sales. When our album sales droped, ranking in the chart dropped immediately… We couldn’t even get in as Number 2.
About boosting album sales, we have a suggestion: when we bulk order, we should coordinate with K-ELFs about when to do bulk purchase. Please do not bulk purchase at the same time, within the first week or first day as it affects chart ranking. In order to make them stay longer in the chart, we hope everyone can purchase the volumes by batches (It will be best if you can do the bulk purchase after the 2nd week), let our sales flow long and strong, so they can get more of Number 1!
****************************************************
My main point is, we should pay a few more dollars using hard cash buying a CD directly from the chain of shops belonging to Hanteo (with a tax receipt), rather than save our money but end up buying a cheaper YET totally useless album that cannot boost the sales data. It is worthless and meaningless, don’t you agree?
We have a huge foreign ELF base, if every one of us buy an album, the result will be phenomenal.
If there would be a 6jib, it will not be in the near future.
There is no point worrying about the unknown. We can only treasure the present and be serious about everything and committed to do our best!
For the longest time, we were the only ones putting in hard work and effort. The house of sapphire blue did not rely on promotions to prove popularity. We did not take anything that did not belong to us. What we have is from pure hard work and ability, sweat and tears. We paved the road ourselves, step by step. We moved up to the stage which said: Asia and even the whole world.
We hope everyone can work as a team.
If we make it, we are the family of sapphire blue.
If we screw it up, we are still the family of sapphire blue.
We are the family of sapphire blue who will embrace and progress together.
See you in 5jib. Never have a change of heart.
If you truly love, please love deeply.
P.S. We are not forcing anyone to buy 5jib, we do not have the right to do so. But we sincerely hope that all ELFs can act as a solid backing for Super Junior, just for the name of ELF. We try to do what we can within our means, as they have suffered and are exhausted after all these years. If even an ELF is not willing to give, then all their sufferings are wasted.Still the same old phrase, please continue to support Super Junior, continue to bulk purchase 5jib, continue to create the glory belonging to Super Junior and ELFs!
